By Matthieu on Wednesday, September 16 2015, 07:35 - Musique - Permalink
After years of work, hours of joy and desperation, here is my first large scale musical work:
Sonate pour Hautbois et Piano (listen online)
The next step is to have it performed and recorded into a CD, and get it up there on Amazon.. Targeted by end of this year.

Nepo Nguyen Vi talentas
Matthieu Napishtim Dakon Nepino pri via kortushantaj vortoj ! Fakte tiu afero estas grandparte laboro, kaj persisteco
Vu Tran-Viet Chapeau Matthieu Napishtim !
宋潮偉 hmm, that second movement sounds so familiar, something from mitsuda or suikoden. What is it that i hear? Also, the piano part is difficult to play without the right signatures.
Matthieu Napishtim Haha yes the dorian-lydian first theme is quite Mitsuda-ish! Anything else that makes you think so?
I gave up putting key signatures because anyway i keep modulating, especially in the third movement. When you see both # and b, it's because i use the diminished mode (so-called Babylonian epic Sylvestri!) Anywhere i wrote it wrong? Or unplayable?
Simon Granger Impressionant...

Ghis !
Olivier Ballerini-Gendrin Tu as demandé à Nicolas Harand ou à V. Buron ?

Georges Jougla Chapeau!

There are many places where you write for example a mi bemol instead of a re sharp. It will confuse the pianist.
Matthieu Napishtim I'm curious if you could tell me precisely where.. i've been scanning this aspect quite thoroughly, with my infamous tonal wheel mwaahahaha !!
Ah found it. http://youtu.be/oFbVhFlqt3k

For example measure 47 in the fast notes in right hand. And a lot of places in third movement.
The first movement was most playable. The third movement less playable. The second movement has the most beautiful theme ever, but is too short...
Matthieu Napishtim Ah yes, touché ! A lost mib on a Do#M9.. we'll fix this right away boss.
The second movement is also my teacher's favorite. Surprisingly, the first theme is in D minor but rather peaceful, whereas the second is in A Major, but much darker and melancholic.
By the way, did you notice that the third movement's first theme is a tribute to your Presto? Man, I love this music, among many others of yours (Cloud, Dolphin, Rescousse, Submarine, Duet, Jailed, Future, etc.)
Matthieu Napishtim not to mention Epilogue and Ode to Skyleo ! (pas vrai Donovan?) i keep listening to absorb it all
Matthieu Napishtim Nice one, the melody of Aveh! I'd rather think about that one for the shape of the harp arpeggio. Ah Mitsuda, such a dazzling beauty..

Indeed i noticed the flying to the clouds theme... Composing is too much work, too lazy
Matthieu Napishtim Uh? where? I meant your "Introduction and presto", specially at 2'24'' with the overjoyed cymbal !
宋潮偉 well it doesn't matter, the most important thing is, you made me compose again... I think I'll call it Reverie.
Matthieu Napishtim wow fantastic !!
Đồng Quang Vinh Matthieu! Congratulations! I'll listen to it carefully. We must like it very much. Thanks so much for the great file you sent.
Matthieu Napishtim Thank you Vince, your expert advice will be helpful!
J-b Aucler Ah ouai? Comment ça un texte^^
Anna Minh Bravo Matthieu Napishtim. Felicitation!
Bon courage !

Matthieu Napishtim Wow that's fast! and thank you for the video as well, you dot it quickly from your heart to the tip of your fingers (and eventually the drum of our ears!) Just to tease you, at 3'10'' there's a Schubert's Ave Maria coming out Really beautifully inspired! http://youtu.be/IIOF3E3y-WE

Matthieu Napishtim Albert, i think you must open a Soundcloud channel, there is too much great stuff to put there, and i like the time-pinned comments!
Matthieu Napishtim By the way, i still would like to steal some of your brain runtime to analyse Hamauzu's illusion, as we started in 2009 at your place (https://soundcloud.com/setze.../masashi-hamauzu-ffx-illusion) and then i'll play it :3

Đồng Minh Tuấn I really like it and expect your final record :D
Matthieu Napishtim Thank you Tuấn, me too!
Drapier Maurice Your sonata is very mpressive Matt! Half a touch of french school (Debussy / Sauguet ) half a touch of british expressionism (Vaughan /Britten) ; sounds so unworn and untouched by convention ! Expecting now a concetro or a fugue;)
Matthieu Napishtim Terima kasih Moris! I'll check out Sauguet and Vaughan of whom i still know little...
Cecilia Lazcano de Muñoz-Ledo Felicidades!!!! Muy bella!!!
Matthieu Napishtim Gracias Cecilia !
